1333348 Seat arrangements; bumpers; rear view mirrors; road vehicle bodies A P PEDRICK 17 Aug 1972 38313/72 Headings B7J and B7B In a conventional front-seat controlled car the rear passengers 2 are seated higher than the driver 1 to look out of a second windscreen 2<SP>1</SP>.. The engine 3 is disposed below the rear seats and luggage 4 is stored front and rear. A rear view system for the driver is formed by angled mirrors 5<SP>1</SP> in a tube 511 extending from the dash-board to the rear of the car. Alternatively optical glass fibres may be used. Front and rear end protection is provided by spare wheels 11, 12 each of which can be extended or withdrawn by air-operated diaphragms (13) and has passed therearound a nylon strap wrapped at opposite ends around coils (15) (16), Fig. 2 (not shown).
