Abstract
1333042 Detergent bars UNILEVER Ltd 15 Sept 1970 [22 Aug 1969] 41994/69 Heading C5D A detergent bar comprises (A) 15 to 85% of a synthetic anionic detergent compound or compounds, (B) 5 to 45% of a water-soluble carboxylic polymeric polyelectrolyte detergency builder and 5 to 20% water, the total of (A) and (B) being from 20 to 95%, by wt. of the detergent bar. (A) may be sodium alkyl benzene sulphonate or a mixture of C 14 -C 24 olefin sulphonates and C 10 -C 20 straight chain primary alkane sulphonates in proportions of 10:1 to 1 : 10. (B) compounds are water soluble salts of carboxylic acid polymers or hydrolyzed polymers of the anhydrides of dicarboxylic acids; the acids may be acrylic, methacrylic, maleic, fumaric, itaconic, citraconic or aconitic acid which may be homo-polymerized or co-polymerized with styrene, substituted styrene, ethylene, acrylonitrile, acrylamide, vinyl chloride or vinyl acetate. Fillers which may be present are NaHCO 3 , talc, sodium silicate, Na 2 SO 4 ,' Na 2 CO 3 , paraffin wax, starch, urea, sodium soap and calcium soap. Conventional additives may also be present.
