1332698 Benzophenones F HOFFMANNLA ROCHE & CO AG 21 Dec 1970 12290/70 Divided out of 1332697 Heading C2C Compounds of the general formula (R 1 = H, Me; R 2 = H, COCH 2 X; X = H, leaving atom or group) are prepared by iodination using ICl, optionally followed by introduction of the N-substituent(s) if present. The primary amine may be converted to its methyl derivative by tosylation, methylation and acid hydrolysis.
