Abstract
1331942 Electro-graphic tablets NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORP 10 Aug 1971 [17 June 1970] 29434/70 Heading G1N An electro-graphic tablet comprises two conductive sheets separated by a sheet of foraminous insulating material whereby point contact causes contact to be made between the conductive sheets through the holes in the foraminous sheet. As shown, a glass base 10 carries a carbon coating 11 around the edges of which are arranged spiral wire electrodes (14, 15, 16, 17, Fig.1, not shown). The foraminous sheet 33 is of 20 denier nylon mesh, and the upper conductive sheet 32 is of woven carbon or silver-coated fibre-glass. An insulating plastics sheet 34 protects the upper conductive sheet. Alternatively, both conductive sheets may comprise plastics material and carry each a set of parallel conductors on their mutually confronting faces, the sets of conductors being orthogonal. The electrodes may be energised alternately in opposite pairs, whereby X and Y co-ordinate signals are obtained alternately from the upper conductive sheet.
