Abstract

1331881 Pneumatic conveyers WERKZEUGMASCHINENKOMBINAT "FRITZ HECKERT" KARL - MARX - STADT VEB 10 April 1972 16410/72 Heading B8A A carrier 2 is slidingly moved over a support surface 1 formed as a plurality of sections 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4 each with a series of carrier air jets 4, through which air issues to form an air cushion to support the carrier, and a series of feeler jets 3. The feeler jets 3 have an air supply separate from that of the carrier air jets and have a control output 5, 6, 8 to control the supply of carrier air to those sections immediately adjacent the carrier. The control output 5 of one section, e.g. 1.3 is connected to the logic control system 7.2 of the preceding section 1.2, the control output 6.3 is connected to the logic control system 7.4 of the succeeding system 1.4 and the control output 8.3 is connected to the logic control system 7.3 of the corresponding section. The logic control systems 7.1, 7.2 which may be pneumatic in operation, control the air supply to the carrier jets 4 of the respective sections.
