Abstract

1330775 Srchimedean screw pumps SIMONHARTLEY Ltd 15 May 1972 [14 May 1971 2 Sept 1971] 15060/71 and 40946/71 Heading F1C At least two separate screw portions 16, 17 are mounted on a common shaft 13 and disposed in an inclined trough having separate portions of complementary cross-section, there being an inlet 22, 24 for liquid to be pumped at the lower end of each trough portion, and an outlet 25 for pumped liquid at the upper end of at least the uppermost portion. So shown, an outlet 23 may be provided at the upper end of the lower portion, and in this case a sealing disc 21 is provided on the shaft 13 to separate the two flows. Either of the two screw portions 16, 17 may be larger than the other.
