Abstract

1330609 4 - (Alkanoyl) - hydroxylamino - 4<SP>1</SP>- amino-diphenylsulphones SMITH KLINE & FRENCH LABORATORIES 9 May 1972 21603/72 Heading C2C [Also in Division A5] Novel, therapeutic compounds (I) where R 1 is NH 2 , NHCOR 4 or N(.OR 3 )(.COR 4 ), R 2 is H or alkyl, R 3 is H or COR 5 and R 4 and R 5 are alkyl or dialkylaminoalkylene, are made by acylating corresponding -NHOH compounds and if desired hydrolysing the products obtained. The following compounds are also prepared: 4 - amino - 4<SP>1</SP> - nitrodiphenylsulphide, 4 - acetamido - 4<SP>1</SP> - nitrodiphenyl - sulphide and -sulphone, 4 - acetamido - 4<SP>1</SP> - hydraxylaminodiphenylsulphane, 4 - nitro - 4<SP>1</SP> - trifluoroacetamidodiphenyl-sulphide and -sulphone, 4-hydroxylamino - 4<SP>1</SP> - trifluoroacetamidodiphenylsulphone, 4 - (N,O - diacetylhydroxylamino)- 4<SP>1</SP>- trifluoroacetamidodiphenylsulphone, 3-methyl- 4,4<SP>1</SP> - dinitro - diphenyl - sulphide and -sulphone, 4,4<SP>1</SP> - dihydroxylamino - 3 - methyldiphenylsulphone and 3 - ethyl - 4,4<SP>1</SP> - dinitrodiphenylsulphide.
