Abstract

1330014 Potato chips dispensing machine KOELINSTALLATIES VAN CLEVEN GEBROEDERS 30 Dec 1970 [29 Oct 1970] 61794/70 Headings A4D and D7 Fried potato chips dispensing apparatus, which may be coin controlled has a housing I with a top compartment 2, Fig. 1, containing a perforated drum 4 rotatable by motor 8 into which chips, possibly partly fried, are placed via door 5, the compartment being cooled and/or ventilated at opening 14, 15. The drum is provided internally and externally with scoops 24, Fig. 3 provided with sprung doors 19 which during a rotation of the drum, engage projection 22 to open and discharge a quantity of chips into a weighing receptacle 29 hinged at 30 which then closes switch 39 which starts a motor 51 in lower compartment 3 insulated at 25 from compartment 2, drives cams 50, 62 and releases a dish 67 from a stick 70 to fall into a vend opening 74. Cam 50 via linkage 40-49 opens hinged trap 27 through which receptacle 29 tips the chips into a basket 53 raised by cam 62 via linkage 54-61. Cam 62 then lowers basket 53 into the frying fat container 52 for a time determined by a timer after which cam 62 raises the basket, drains the fat through slots 64 back into the container and tips the chips into a funnel 76 guiding them on to dish 67, finger 65 opening valve 82 allowing salt from receptacle 80 to sprinkle on the chips via chute 88, although receptacle 80 with valve 82 can be rotated out of the way of lever 65 by an external knob at the choice of the user. An auger may be used in place of scoops 24.
