Abstract

1329863 Tool holding assembly INDEXWERKE KG HAHN & TESSKY 23 Sept 1970 [25 Sept 1969] 45418/70 Headings B3B and B3T A tool carrying assembly comprises a carrier portion 10 which has a cylindrical bore 30 in which is slidably located an internally tapered bush 32 with a longitudinally extending slot 34 into which bush a tapered shank 20 of a tool holder is drawn by means 52, 56, 60. A toolholder 12, 16, with a tool 18 has a tapered shank 20 which is inserted into the bush and is clamped in the carrier by screw and bevel gear means 52, 56, 60, which draws the tool holder shank into the tapered bush. the bush moving axially with the shank in the cylindrical bore against a spring 42 to effect centring of the tool holder shank and to permit the opposed surfaces 24, 76 on the holder and carrier respectively to come into abutting relationship.
