Abstract
1329177 Plate heat exchangers FARBWERKE HOECHST AG 19 April 1971 [17 Feb 1970] 21981/71 Heading F4S In a plate heat exchanger comprising separating sheets 3 disposed between adjacent grooved plates 1, 2, heat exchange between two media flowing through the grooves takes place through the separating sheets 3. The plates 1, 2 and the sheets 3 are made of polytetrafluoroethylene. The heat exchange media are led into and removed from the respective arrays of grooves in the plates via socket connections (9, 10, Fig. 4) provided in end plates 4, 8 or the heat exchanger stack. The plates 4 are of steel; the plates 8, which are of polytetrafluoroethylene, have distribution channels therein. A series arrangement, as shown, or parallel arrangement (see Fig. 2) may be used to distribute the media to the respective arrays of grooves in the stack.
