Abstract
1328768 Substituted acetophenones ROUSSEL UCLAF 26 May 1972 [26 May 1971] 25042/72 Heading C2C [Also in Division A5] Acetophenones having the general formula wherein R<SP>1</SP> represents H, Cl or -OH; R<SP>2</SP> represents -NO 2 or -OCH 3 and when R<SP>1</SP> represents Cl of -OH, R<SP>2</SP> may also represent Cl or an acetoxy group, are prepared by reacting a compound of formula with an alkyl nitrite. 2,5-w-Trichloroacetophenone, and the corresponding tetra- and pentachlorinated compounds are prepared by passing chlorine through 2,5-dichloroacetophenone.
