Abstract
1328002 Multiplex transmission SIEMENS AG 19 April 1971 [29 Jan 1970 (2)] 20284/71 Heading H4R In an arrangement for the transmission of videophone signals over multiplex telecommunications systems normally used for telephony the carriers which are used for multistage or single stage transposition of the videophone signals from video position to the transmission position are all multiples of a particular frequency; i.e. 4 KHz which is the frequency spacing of the telephone channels. As described the modulation system is as described in Specification 1,328,001 with the frequencies used in the initial conversion from the video position being an odd number multiple of 4 KHz and the carriers used for the subsequent conversions whole multiples of 8 KHz. The line scan frequency of the videophone system is 4 KHz or a multiple thereof, preferably 8 KHz.
