Abstract

1327852 Filling nozzle FARRON & JACKSON Ltd 27 March 1972 [4 May 1971] 12907/71 Addition to 1108831 Heading B8T [Also in Division F2] The subject-matter is substantially the same as in Specification 1,108,831 except that cushion ring 20 has been modified in design and may be made of an incompressible plastics material. Ring 20 fits round a cylindrical shoulder 30 on bulbous end 15a, which is screwed into valve body 15, against which shoulder 30 bears, so that inner raised portion 31 of the ring is depressed. When the valve is closed sleeve 18 bears against platform 33 and since only the radially inner part of the ring is supported by platform 34 the pressure of the sleeve causes the ring to flex and thereby ensures an efficient seal all round the edge of sleeve 18.
