Abstract

1327425 Support for a stationary coil TINSLEY WIRE INDUSTRIES Ltd 2 Sept 1971 [4 Sept 1970] 42410/70 Heading D1J To keep the package (13) under control whilst it is being unwound from its upper end, a plurality of depending long arms 2 are provided, these arms being spaced around and pivoted on a supporting frame 5. Each arm 2 has an upper shorter arm 3. The arms 3 converge towards each other at their upper ends and the arms 2 converge towards each other at their lower ends. As the package 13 decreases in height the arms 2 swing outwards to hold it. The arms 3 may be biassed inwardly by weights or springs. A frustoconical hat may be provided on the supporting frame 5 to cover the short arms 3. The angle between the arms 2 and 3 is between 120‹ and 170‹.
