Abstract

1327319 Plastic strip ETABS MESNEL 7 Dec 1971 [8 April 1971] 56654/71 Heading B5A [Also in Division E1] A method of shaping a sealing strip having a vulcanizable sealing portion and a plastics fixing portion, comprises subjecting the sealing portion to only partial vulcanization, constraining the strip to a required shape, and heating to complete vulcanization of the sealing portion and to soften the fixing portion which then cools to shape. The portions are extruded separately and adhered together after the partial vulcanization of the sealing portion. The strip is shaped by cores 4, 6 inserted into the hollow sealing section and channel-shaped fixing step. Alternatively with a solid sealing section, moulds are used.
