Abstract
1327034 Photographic development AGFAGEVAERT 2 Oct 1970 [27 Oct 1969] 52566/69 Heading G2C An exposed photographic silver halide emulsion layer is developed by treating the layer with an aqueous alkaline solution in the presence of a hydroxylamine developing agent and a bis(pyridone) azine or salt thereof substituted in the 1-positions by alkyl or substituted alkyl groups and preferably having the formula: - where each of R 1 and R 2 is alkyl or substituted alkyl, each of n and n' is 0 or 1 and each of Z 1 and Z 2 completes a pyridone or substituted pyridone nucleus. Hydroxylamine developing agents include hydroxylamine, N-alkyl and N, N-dialkyl hydroxylamines and heterocyclic hydroxylamines such as N-hydroxy-morpholine. The bis(pyridone)azine and developing agent may be in the developer solution or in the photographic material. The development may form part of a silver salt diffusion process.
