Abstract

1326834 Bolt mechanism WILH FRANK GmbH 31 Aug 1971 [16 Sept 1970] 40506/71 Heading E2A A kit of parts for making a bolt mechanism comprises an operating bar 2 having a plurality of slots 7, a bolt 9 attachable to the bar so that a portion 11 protrudes through any desired slot and a cover plate 1 for the bar having a plurality of slots 5 corresponding in position to the slots of the operating bar and each of which is filled with an insert 13, any desired insert being removable to enable the portion 11 of the bolt to protrude through the slot the cover plate carrying an operating membrane 3 to which the bar is connectable. In the construction shown each insert is push fit in its slot and it is provided with a rim 14 which bear on the underside of the cover plate; the cover plate in addition to the slot 5 has screw holes 4. The bolt 9 has a base 10 from which the portion 11 projects and this is provided with cylindrical pins 12 which are engageable in holes 8 in the operating bar to secure the bolt to the bar. The bar is slidable by means of operating mechanism 3. In a modification instead of the inserts being a press fit they are made by filling the slots in the cover plate with molten plastics material which cools and solidifies. The portion 11 of the bolt can either engage a keeper directly or it can be provided with a cover member which engages the keeper. (For Figure see next page)
