Abstract
1326773 Epoxy resin powders UNILEVEREMERY NV 27 Nov 1970 [28 Nov 1969] 56375/70 Heading C3B Epoxy resin powders are obtained by: (a) preparing a hot melt of an epoxy resin (I) and a C 7 13 aliphatic dicarboxylic acid (II); (b) mixing the hot melt until homogeneous; and (c) cooling and grinding the resultant mixture into a powder. I may be an epoxy novolac resin or a polyglycidyl ether of a polyhydric phenol. II may be pimelic, azelaic, sebacic, hendecanedioic, dodecanedioic or brassylic acid. The composition may also contain bisphenol A and/ or a curing accelerator, e.g. benzyldimethylamine. II may be present at 20-70 parts by wt. per 100 parts by wt. of I. Uses.-Mouldings, fluidized bed coatings which may be cured, e.g. at 80-250‹ C.
