Abstract
1326431 Pneumatic conveyers BANGOR PUNTA OPERATIONS Inc 27 June 1970 31259/70 Heading B8A Apparatus for conveying a row of articles, e.g. boxes, comprises a surface having three rows of apertures 12, 14 which forms the top wall of a chamber 15 to which pressurized gas is supplied from a blower 16. The gas emerges vertically from the apertures 14 thus producing a lifting effect on the articles while it emerges inclined in the direction in which the articles are to travel from the apertures 12, thus moving the articles. In motion the articles are guided by rods 8 whose lateral position relative to the surface is adjustable. In an alternative embodiment, Fig. 5 (not shown), the chamber is divided into three sections by partitions (22, 23), each section having dampers (24-26) controllable by handles (27-29) such that the lifting thrust from the apertures 14 can be controlled independently of the propulsion thrust from the apertures 12.
