Abstract

1326024 Tubular heat exchangers FISONS Ltd 4 Nov 1970 [19 Nov 1969] 56540/69 Heading F4S In a heat exchanger incorporating a composite circular tube plate mounted in the wall of a hot gas duct 1 and adapted to support a plurality of U tubes 5 through which gas to be heated is passed, the tube plate comprises a centre portion 2 attached to an annular periphral rim 3 by a deformable member 4 in the form of a bellows section provided for accomodating uneven expansion across the plate. Header chambers 6 and 7 mounted on the plate lead the gas to and collect the gas from the tubes 5. The deformable member comprises two skirt members 10 and 12 joined by an annular member 11. The rim, which is provided with radial pins 16 engaging in slots 17 around the periphery of the centre portion 2, is bolted in place on the duct wall by means of a locking ring 13 and bolts 14.
