Abstract

1325402 Luffing boom apparatus for supporting workmen SIMON ENG DUDLEY Ltd 7 April 1972 [28 April 1971] 11789/71 Heading B8H [Also in Division F1] Each double-acting hydraulic ram 16, 17, for actuating an articulated boom 12, 14, is provided with normal pressure fluid inlet and outlet lines 23, 24 connected to an hydraulic pump 19 and with secondary, normally closed, inlet and outlet ports 25, 26 which are adapted to be connected by flexible hoses on reels 21, 22 with an auxiliary hydraulic pump 20 in the event of any failure in the main hydraulic system. Similarly, the auxiliary pump 20 may be connected to other hydraulic actuators, e.g. the ground-engaging jacks 18. A ladder 28 is provided to enable an operator to connect the flexible hoses to the ram 17.
