Abstract

1324716 Steering wheels H L BENNETT 6 Sept 1972 52454/70 Headings B7B B7H and B7J A generally semi-circular steering wheel has an outer rim C mounted on a steering column A by radial spokes E and an inner semi-circular rim H welded to the outer rim C at its extremities. A rubber cushion D, for protecting the driver against injury, fits around the rim C and is secured to the rim H by spring clips X. The cushion D carries a ball-bearing F which engages the steering column when fitted to the steering wheel. Metal tabs K carry bolts (not shown) which also secure the cushion to the wheel.
