Abstract

1324788 Printing apparatus ADAMOVSKE STROJIRNY NARODNI PODNIK 16 Oct 1970 [28 Dec 1969] 49241/70 Heading B6C A printing machine is stopped by disengagement of offset cylinder 28 from a co-operating cylinder when a preselected number of sheets printed is reached. The number of sheets to be printed is set by pushing in control knob 52 against the resistance of a spring, so disengaging tooth 8 from notched disc 9, and turning the knob to set the desired number on dial 53 and give an initial rotation to a ratchet wheel. A pawl 14 rotates the ratchet wheel through an incremental angle with the printing of each sheet, until with the printing of the last sheet a pin 32 on the ratchet wheel contacts a tooth on a lever 5 and initiates tripping of the offset cylinder and disengagement at the paper feed and motor mechanism of the printing machine. The pawls 14 and 46 are then lifted, and the ratchet wheel returns under spring action to its start position, from which it is removed when a new number is set on the dial 53, and printing of that number is commenced, or on repetition printing of the same number of copies.
