Abstract

1322914 Dyeing polyacrylonitrile HACOBA-TEXTILMASCHINEN GmbH & CO KG 4 Nov 1970 [21 Nov 1969] 7 Feb 1970 (2)] 52483/70 Heading D1B High-bulk polyacrylonitrile yarn is dyed at temperatures below the glass transition point by means of an acidic liquor containing a cationic dye and a compound which swells and/or dissolves the fibres without completely dissolving them, the excess dye liquor then being removed and the yarn is subjected to a damp heat treatment at a temperature of not less than 98‹C. The treatment with the acidic liquor is preferably not more than 70‹C for wet-spun fibres and not more than 80‹C for dry spun fibres. Preferred swelling agents are ethylene- and propylene carbonates, propionitrile, benzyl-oxypropionitrile, acetonitrile, phenylacetonitrile.
