1322320 Degassing oil DAIMLER-BENZ AG 14 Dec 1971 [15 Dec 1970] 58015/71 Heading B1M Lubricating oil containing air bubbles is defoamed by passing the oil in at 3 whence some of the oil passes up through port 22 and leaves at 17, and the rest passes through ports 23 into chambers 16, where air separates from the oil due to the much slower rate of flow and oil still containing air flows slowly upwards and leaves via 14 and 17. Oil which contains little or no air passes through annular gap 24 and then through a screen 28 having a mesh size of 10-20Á where any air still present is stopped with associated oil which then passes back into chamber 16. Defoamed oil leaves at 4.
