Abstract
1322209 Sulphitobetaines BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK AG 10 Nov 1970 [11 Nov 1969] 53385/70 Heading C2C [Also in Divisions C5 and D1] Sulphitobetaines of the formula in which each R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP> and R<SP>3</SP> is an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, araliphatic or aromatic radical, or each R<SP>2</SP> and R<SP>3</SP> may be hydrogen, or R<SP>1</SP> and one R<SP>2</SP> may form with the nitrogen atom a heterocyclic ring, are prepared by reacting i where each R<SP>3</SP> is as defined for R<SP>3</SP> or may contain one or more further epoxy groups, with "Aliphatic" includes amido and carboalkoxy groups. The thionamic acid and thionylamide starting materials may be prepared by reacting SO 2 with suitable primary or secondary amines or with tertiary amines, respectively. The products are useful as textile treating and detergent agents.
