Abstract

1322180 Pulse generation MARCONI CO Ltd 28 Oct 1970 [11 Dec 1969] 60421/69 Heading H3T An arrangement for generating pulse groups exhibiting a pulse pattern which is repeated includes a pulse forming network 1 and an arrangement 2, 4 for charging the network 1 for a predetermined constant time prior to the discharge for the production of an output pulse. In operation, clock pulses applied at 15 are subjected to predetermined delays at 11-14 so that a thyristor 4 is triggered to commence charging from a reservoir capacitor 2 at predetermined instants prior to the actual production of the pulses concerned by the closing of a switch 9, the time interval T between charging of 1 and the production of pulse in each case being a constant irrespective of whether the pulse spacings in a group are regular or not. In the embodiments of Figs. 3, 4 (not shown) separate thyristors (4A-4D) controlled by clock pulses from one of the delays 11-14 serve to charge the network 1 from separate reservoir capacitors (2A-2D) which may themselves be charged from an earlier reservoir capacitor (28, Fig. 4) via diodes (24-27).
