Abstract

1320716 Suitcases DOMINION LUGGAGE CO Ltd 21 July 1970 35270/70 Heading A4G A centre-opening suitcase 1 has two rigid frames 4, 4', hinged together and, extending outwardly from each frame, a resilient peripheral portion 9 to which is attached a flexible side 11 of the case. The frame 4' which may be of metal embraces a rigid rim T against which the frame 4 abuts when the case is closed. Stitched or stapled to each frame is the resilient portion 9, which may be of plywood and the stitching 29 is covered by a plastics wearing strip B. The flexible side 11 of the case is stitched into a channel 17 around the edge of the portions 9, a filler 16 being provided, and is attached to the outside of the portions 9. Each half of the case may have a division wall 19, stitched to a hinge cover 21, and each division wall 19 may have a transparent panel 20.
