Abstract
1320449 Sequestering BAYER AG 15 Dec 1971 [16 Dec 1970] 58247/71 Heading C1C [Also in Divisions C2 and C5] Alkaline earth metal ions, e.g. calcium, are sequestered by treating them in aqueous solution with a compound of the formula or an alkali metal, ammonium or amine salt thereof wherein R is H, C 1 -C 4 alkyl or COOH and R<SP>1</SP> is H or CH 3 . The sequestering agent may be used in admixture with a diluent or carrier and a wetting agent, emulsifier, antifoaming agent, bleaching agent or disinfectant may also be present.
