Abstract
1320286 Measuring mass force electrically WIRTH GALLO & CO 27 March 1972 [9 June 1971] 14180/72 Heading G1N Apparatus for measuring masses or forces comprises two pretensioned electronically excited oscillating strings 4 each attached at one end to a movable central body 5, first and second force-transmitting members in the form of wires 6, 15 serving respectively to transmit to the central body a pretensioning force and a force which is a function of the mass or force to be measured, the strings and wires being so arranged that they radiate from the central body in a star-like configuration, a pretensioning body 10 acting upon the first wire 6 to produce the pretensioning force, the body 10 being carried upon a substantially horizontal arm 9 of a lever 8 having a horizontally disposed swivel axis 25, the body 10 comprising three component bodies 20, 21 and 24 of which the positions with respect to the swivel axis may be adjusted independently and which bodies may be locked in the adjusted positions. Body 20 is in the form of an elongate block slidable in a guideway and locked in position by screws 22. Body 24 is a self-locking screw for adjustment of the vertical disposition of the C of G. Body 21 is the form of an eccentric disc and is rotatable for five adjustments.
