Abstract

1320149 Rubbish Bins W T LLOYD-JONES 10 Aug 1970 [8 Aug 1969 20 Sept 1969] 39696/69 and 46457/69 Heading A4A A rubbish bin comprises an inner rubbish container 8, an outer cover 2, preferably shaped like a frog, having an aperture 3 through which rubbish can be pushed into container 8 via a guide 10, and a base 4, at least part of cover 2 being movable relative to container 8 to reveal an open top thereof to facilitate emptying, container 8 being supported in cover 2 and having a lower planer end wall which is inclined to a planar bottom surface of base 4 in the normal position of use of the bin. In one form, Fig.1 (not shown), the whole cover is pivoted at the front of the base 4 and is retained by a releasable catch (20) at the rear thereof, the top of the base 4 having a portion supporting container 8 and inclined to said planar base surface. An alternative embodiment, Fig.2, has a rear flap 11 pivoted at 13 to the cover 2 and connected by a link 12 pivoted at 14 to the container 8 which is supported by cradles 19 on the cover 2. Release of a locking means allows backward pivoting of flap 11 causing container 8 to tilt back so that its open top is disposed adjacent the opening normally filled by flap 11. A disposable bag 15 may be provided in container 8.
