Abstract

1319323 Laminates BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK AG 1 Oct 1970 [2 Oct 1969] 46674/70 Heading B5N A three-ply plastics film consists of (1) a first ply having a thickness of form 0À01 to 0À200 mm. and consisting of a homopolymer of ethylene or of a copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate containing up to 15% by weight of vinyl acetate units, (2) an intermediate ply having a thickness of from 0À005 to 0À050 mm. and consisting of a copolymer containing from 60 to 90% by weight of ethylene units, from 0À5 to 20% by weight of units of an ethylenically unsaturated acid, e.g. acrylic acid, from 0À5 to 20% by weight of units of an ester of an ethylenically unsaturated acid, e.g. f-butyl acrylate and from 0À3 to 5% by weight of isobutylene units and (3) an outer ply having a thickness of from 0À01 to 0À200 mm. and consisting of a synthetic thermoplastic polyamide. Specified polyamides are polycaprolactam, polycapryllactam, polylaurolactam, polyoenantholactam, nylon 6-6, nylon 6-10, nylon 6-12, poly-11-aminoundecanoic acid and the corresponding copolyamides. The film may be made by applying heat and pressure to an assembly of plies or by simultaneous extrusion.
