Abstract

1318925 Isocyanurate-polyurethane forming catalysts BAXENDEN CHEMICAL CO Ltd 26 Nov 1971 [27 Nov 1970] 56420/70 Heading B1E [Also in Division C3] A catalyst composition comprises an anhydrous solution, in a polar hydroxylic organic solvent of an alkali metal and/or alkaline earth metal hydroxide(s) and / or salts(s) and 2,4,6-tris(N,N - dimethylaminomethyl) phenol. The solvent is suitably an alkylene diol or polyalkylene ether diol, particularly dipropylene glycol. Suitable metalbased catalyst components are potassium salts of carboxylic acids, particularly potassium acetate. The preferred proportions of metalbased catalyst component to substituted phenolin the compositions are 0.05:1 to 1.25:1, the amount of metal-based catalyst being calculated as alkali metal or alkaline earth metal cation.
