Abstract

1318254 Ceiling fixtures SMITHCRAFT CORP 21 Aug 1970 [21 Aug 1969] 40453/70 Heading E1W [Also in Division F4] A ceiling light fixture comprises at least one slotted plate 26 extensible from a side face 14 of the fixture by engagement of its punched out projection 34 in an inclined slot in the side face 14. In its extended position the arm is pivoted downwardly about a pin or rivet fixed to the face and engaging the slot of the plate 26 by means of a cam 40 pivoted on a pin 42 and engaging the projection 34 where it passes through an arcuate continuation of the inclined slot centred on the point of downward pivotment of the arm 26. Rotation of the cam 40 at installation may thus raise and lock the fixture in position with respect to a ceiling framework member 20 with which the outer portion of the extended arm 26 engages.
