Abstract
1318154 Supersensitized silver halide emulsions KONISHIROKU PHOTO INDUSTRY CO Ltd 16 July 1971 [16 July 1970] 33550/71 Heading G2C A light-sensitive silver halide emulsion contains a supersensitizing combination for the green region of the spectrum of at least one dye of Formula I:- in which Y<SP>1</SP> is H 1 alkyl (1-4C) or alkoxy (1-4C); Z is S or Se; V is H or alkyl (1-4C); R<SP>1</SP> is alkyl (1-4C) or substituted alkyl e.g. hydroxyalkyl or sulphoalkyl; R<SP>2</SP> is sulphoalkyl or carboxyalkyl; X is an anion and m is 0 or 1, together with at least one dye of Formula II:- in which Y<SP>2</SP> is H or alkyl (1-4C) 1 Y3 is H 1 alkyl (1-4C) 1 alkoxy (1-4C) halogen or phenyl; W is halogen e.g. Cl, or substituted or unsubstituted phenyl e.g. chlorophenyl; R<SP>3</SP> is alkyl (1-4C; M is H, an alkali metal atom, or H.Q where Q is an organic base; and each of n 1 and n 2 is 2, 3, or 4. The dye combination is suitable for silver halide emulsions used in black and white photography, image transfer and the silver dye bleach process.
