Abstract

1317939 Gas storage containers KVAERNER BRUG AS and MOSS-ROSENBERG VERFT AS 16 Oct 1970 [18 Oct 1969] 49226/70 Heading F4P A spherical or cylindrical gas storage tank 3 for mounting within the hull 1 of a ship, comprises two halves each welded to a horizontal ring 10 by means of which the tank is supported upon a skirt 4 which is preferably welded to the hull 1. The ring 10, Fig. 3, which is made from bar steel of greater thickness than the walls of the tank, is bevelled at 14 and has a groove 11 of approximately semi-elliptic cross-section defining a projection 15 which is welded to the skirt 4. The ring 10 may be inverted and the tank 3 suspended in the hull 1 by suitable means.
