Abstract

1317570 Carding machines-removal of fly PARKS-CRAMER (GREAT BRITAIN) Ltd 1 Oct 1970 [14 Oct 1969] 50445/69 Headings DIN and DIF In a revolving flat carding machine a back plate 26 is provided adjacent the main cylinder 13 between the taker-in 17 and flats 31. A rear wall 44 defines a chamber between the taker-in and the flats from which air is extracted by ducts 62 to remove dust and fly and aleviate pressure build up. A cover 55 forms a top to the chamber and defines a channel below the flats to induce an air flow as shown by the arrows. The ends of the chamber are closed by walls 42 and the rear wall is sealed by a flap 47 to the feed roll 16. Mote knives 21 and grid bars 23 are provided below the taker-in.
