Abstract

1317127 Portable containers; caps for containers DART INDUSTRIES Inc 19 April 1971 [3 Feb 1970] 20861/71 Headings B8D and B8T A receptacle 14 for food comprises a flange 22 provided with a plurality of recesses 32 so that a flange 31 of a cover 12 may be grasped to facilitate cover removal. The flange 22 which serves as a handle may extend radially beyond the flange 31 to protect the cover 12 and prevent the receptacle rolling should the receptacle be placed on its side (Fig. 4). The receptacle also comprises one or more side wall(s) 16, an integral bottom 18 and a rim 24 for engaging within a cover groove 27 to form a hermetic seal. The cover flange 31 may have a finger engaging dependent rib. The receptacle may be compression or injection moulded from polythene, blends of polythenes and polypropylene.
