Abstract

1316009 Inking apparatus POLYGRAPH LEIPZIG-KOMBINAT FUR POLYGRAPHISCHE MASCHINEN UND AUSRUSTUNGEN VEB 23 June 1971 29473/71 Addition to 1280067 Heading B6C [Also in Division H2] In the printing machine control arrangement claimed in Specification 1,280,067, the stepping motors control through control units A, B and C (not shown), the ink zone screws 6, parallel ink blade setting screws 9, operating via an axially slidable bar 8, Fig. 1, and position setting screws 11 of an ink proportioning device 1 in one of a number of predetermined sequences. The device 1 comprises an ink blade 2, positioned by means of pivoted inking profile levers 4, against whose faces 5, and 7, the screws 6 and 9 operate, the latter operating through bar 8 and being connected to the stepping motors such as 22 by gears, such as 14, 15 via coupling such as 13. The screw 11 works against a stationary cross-bar 12 fixed to the printing machine, the whole device 1 being mounted on an eccentric sleeve 10. An ink gap a is defined between blade 2 and ductor roller 3. The sequence of unit A is used to prepare for provision of an irregular inking profile, with final fine adjustment of screws 6, for screened pictures, broken up toned areas, and sizes smaller than normal, the sequence of B, with final fine adjustment of screws 9, preparing for uniform profile, for continuous toned areas, or full-sized varnish printing. Sequence C enables a temporary parallel setting upon interruption of zonal printing. In setting, allowance is made for deformation of the blade 2 by use of a precalculated table. The precise sequences used are disclosed in the Specification.
