Abstract

1315650 Bag filling apparatus HAVER & BOECKER 22 March 1972 [2 April 1971] 13398/72 Heading B8C Bag filling apparatus consists of a filling connector with flaps 4, 5 pivotable about horizontal axes and attached to a flange 2 on filling hopper 1, a hose 3 from hopper 1 extending between the flaps, clamping jaws 6, 7 for pressing the mouth of a plastics or plastics lined bag 8 over the flaps, horizontally movable fingers 11 which project into, and spread open the bag mouth in alignment with the flaps 4, 5, and presser bars 16, 17 with rollers 20, 21 which engage and move vertically over the upper part of the bag after filling to remove air. Bars 16, 17 are mounted on pneumatically operated pivoting side plate 24 which is vertically adjustable for different bag sizes. Fingers 11 may comprise suction tubes to remove dust during filling. The presser bar adjacent bag magazine 9 may be hollow with orifices emitting air to cushion bags 8 passing to the flaps 4, 5.
