1315438 5 - Cyclohexadecene - 1 - one TORAY INDUSTRIES Inc 24 Aug 1971 [28 Aug 1970] 39566/71 Heading C2C The invention comprises 5-cyclohexadecene-1- one. It may be prepared by reacting 2-halocyclododecanone with vinyl magnesium halide, hydrolysing the product of that reaction and heating the hydrolysed product to form 5-cyclohexadecene-1-one. The 5-cyclohexadecene-1- one may be used as an active ingredient in odoriferous compositions.
