Abstract

1314552 Measuring torque ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 9 Oct 1970 [9 Oct 1969] 48047/70 Heading G1W A device for measuring the torque of an electric starter motor comprises a forked lever 14, each arm 15, 16 of the fork acting on a piston 17, 18 of a hydraulic load cell 19 having a pressure gauge 23. In Fig.1, the motor 20 is attached to a rotatably mounted member 10 and the forked lever 14 is also attached to member 10 so that the reaction torque on the body of the motor is indicated at 23 when the rotor of the motor is braked. In Fig.3 (not shown), the motor 24 is strapped to a test bed and drives a shaft 27 having a brake disc 28 thereon. The brake caliper 30 is mounted so as to be rotatable about shaft 27 and is connected to forked lever 14 so that the reaction torque on the brake caliper is indicated at 23.
