Abstract

1314382 Crop conveyors DEERE & CO 5 June 1970 [7 June 1969] 27242/70 Heading A1F [Also in Division B8] A conveyor for passing on crop ejected from a threshing concave 12 of a combine harvester into a cleaning device (not shown) includes a conveyor platform 20 comprising a frame 27 having a first conveyor portion which receives the crop and a second conveyor portion for transferring the crop to the cleaning device. The first conveyor portion comprises a flexible sheet 32, e.g. of tear-resistant cloth or rubber or plastics material, carried by a rectangular frame 30 mounted in frame 27. The frame 30 may also include springs for tensioning the sheet 32. The sheet is preferably supported when in a relaxed position, Fig. 3 by ribs or bars 39 (or inverted skids Fig. 5 not shown) extending across the frame 30. Conveyor platform 20 is reciprocated by a drive device (not shown) to and fro and up and down via a rocker arm 24 journalled at 26 to the combine harvester frame. Sheet 32 rises and falls due to the reciprocation and crop falling therein is passed by this motion on to the second conveyor portion 28 in the form of a stepped floor which by virtue of its shape and the reciprocation passes the crop on to the cleaning device.
