Abstract
1314208 Production of glycerine DEUTSCHE GOLDUND SILBER SCHEIDEANSTALT 23 July 1970 [6 Aug 1969 (2)] 35757/70 Heading C2C Glycerine is prepared by hydroxylating allyl alcohol in the absence of a catalyst with an aqueous solution consisting solely of water and at least one percarboxylic acid with 2 to 5 carbon atoms. The preferred peracids are peracetic acid, perpropionic acid or perbutyric acid. The preferred molar ratio of water to percarboxylic acid is from 25 : 1 to 45 : 1.
