Abstract

1313919 Automatic control of current STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd 22 June 1971 [29 Sept 1970] 46342/70 Heading G3R In a current control system for an image intensifier, a control signal, derived at least in part from the current monitored in part of the system, is used to regulate the supply to an oscillator, which feeds the image intensifier via a voltage multiplier. In the embodiment shown, a control signal proportional to the current to the oscillator 12, which feeds a three-stage image intensifier 10 via voltage multiplier 11, is derived from the voltage across resistance 14 by amplifiers 15, 16 and compared with an adjustable reference from amplifier 24 by differential amplifier 25, to provide a variable bias to transistor 26 which regulates the supply from battery 13 to oscillator 12. In other embodiments (not shown) the control signal is derived from current in the final stage of the intensifier, or by the products of the voltage across, and current in, the oscillator or said final stage. A flash suppression circuit, Figs. 5 to 7 (not shown) for the image intensifier may be provided. (See Division H2).
