Abstract
1313080 Chromogenic amino-substituted fluoran compounds NATIONAL CASH REGISTER CO 14 Oct 1971 [3 Nov 1970 (2)] 47841/71 Addition to 1269601 Heading C4P [Also in Division D2] Novel compounds of the formula (wherein R 6 and R 6 are each H or C 1-4 alkyl, and either R 1 , R 2 , R 3 and R 4 are each selected from H, halogen and C 1-4 alkyl, at least one being other than H, or R 2 is optionally substituted amino and R 1 , R 3 and R 4 are each selected from H, halogen and C 1-4 alkyl) develop colour on contact with an acidic material and are used in pressure-sensitive record materials (see Division D2B). They are prepared from 2-carboxy- 3,4,5,6 - tetrachloro - 2<SP>1</SP> - hydroxy - 4<SP>1</SP> - aminobenzophenones and appropriately substituted phenols.
