Abstract

1312749 Smokers' ash-tray FLAMAGAS SA 16 Nov 1971 [17 March 1971] 53165/71 Heading A2M The ash-tray comprises a cylindrical receptacle 7 and an upper cylindrical relatively movable body 5 having a peripheral recess in which a spigot formed on the receptacle 7 is located, the body 5 having an inwardly projecting peripheral lip 11 under which the edges of two semi-circular hinged flaps 2 bear when in a closed position forming a lid. The flaps 2, which are hinged about a common pin 3, are held up against the lip 11 by projections 10 of a stop member 4 when closed as shown. Raising of the upper body 5 relative to the receptacle 7 allows the flaps 2 to pivot downwards until they rest on the inclined shoulders 12 of the stop member 4. Rivets 6, passing through the sides of the spigot of the receptacle 7, engage slots 9 in the upper body 5 to guide and limit its movement, sloping grooves 13 being provided to allow complete removal of the body 5 for emptying the receptacle.
