Abstract

1311734 Tights SANTONI & SpA 17 July 1970 [18 July 1969] 34676/70 Heading A3V A pair of tights is made from an elongate tubular article which is made on a circular knitting machine and comprises two sections 1, 2, 3 and 5, 6, 7 each having a toe-piece 1, 7 a leg zone 2, 6, and a lower body zone 3, 5 arranged symmetrically about a control zone 4 which includes elastic thread, each lower body zone having a longitudinal cut 8, 9, the tights being formed by turning one section inside out and passing it toe first through the longitudinal cut in the other section as shown by the arrows 10, 11 (Fig. 2). The lower body zones 3, 5 may be knited in yarn a stitching different from the remainder of the article. The longitudingal cuts 8, 9 may be stitched at their ends and provided with hems, to prevent ladering, and stitching may also be applied at the crutch region.
