1311705 Reciprocating pumps and motors A BRUSSELLE 27 Nov 1970 [1 Dec 1969] 56393/70 Heading F1A A hydraulic pump or motor comprises a onepiece cylinder block 1 clamped between a cover 3 and a casing 2 by tie bolts 4, pistons 6 being reciprocated by discs 7, 15 on a drive shaft 9, the discs engaging part spherical or conical faces on piston flanges 19, and liquid distribution being effected by manifolds 21, 22 formed within the block and communicating with cylinder ports controlled by the pistons, the manifolds also communicating with an inlet and an outlet. A spring washer 20 takes up clearance between the discs and the pistons.
