Abstract

1311746 Fluid operated brakes WESTING- HOUSE BREMSENUND APPARATEBAU GmbH 5 June 1970 [6 June 1969] 27287/70 Heading F2F In an hydraulic brake arrangement for a vehicle in which the same hydraulic fluid provides power for the brakes and for auxiliary services such as lifting-gear &c. a distribution valve is provided which valve has a first position in which, in use, pressurized hydraulic fluid is provided exclusively to the auxiliary services and a second position in which fluid is supplied to the brakes. The valve includes a control slide 3 in a cylinder 2 with two control discs 4, 5 co-operating with annular chambers 6, 7 of which chamber 6 communicates with the brake cylinders via a connection 8 and chamber 7 is connected to the power circuit via a connection 11. An annular chamber 13 between chambers 6 and 7 is connected via a port 14 to a pump 15 protected by a relief valve 16. Another annular chamber 17 communicates with the pressurefree return path 19 via a port 18 and co-operates with a control sleeve 20 displaceable on slide 3 against a spring 22. Pressure on slide 3 moves disc 4 to allow communication between connections 8 and 14.
